Today’s game is AC Shadows. I got started on the the last 2 targets of Act 2 today. It took me to the eastern region of the game, which is covered in this pretty forests with lanterns.

It was also home to quite a few shrines, which are my favorite locations in this game because it blends the nature and the architecture together really well. Of course, this shrine was the same size as all the others. You want to know what shrine wasn’t the same size as all the others?

This one, which was massive and sprawling. It was about the size of a small town in the game. It had a massive pond that covered the courtyard and this pretty walk-through section that divided up the courtyard. I thought it was going to be leading up to a Stealth Section, but unfortunately it didn’t. Though, i have some suspicions it will be used for the assassination event with the target.

The mission took me further into the woods to recover a scroll that was stolen by a clan that wanted the scroll to keep from peace being made. The wind was blowing really hard around this time, and it was a really cool sight to see. The screenshot cannot do it justice, but this game has some of my favorite wind physics i’ve ever seen. Everything seems to interact with it. The Ocean, Hair, Clothes. It’s like how Red Dead 2 had amazing horses. This game has amazing wind. And somehow it doesn’t lag my mid tier PC to hell and back.

The mission took me to this tomb with a bit of water surrounding it. The thieves were just outside. They out leveled me though so i had to get a bit creative with how i fought them.

My current loadout was built for double assassinations. In this game if you want to do double assassinations you need a Tanto in one of your weapon slots. It’s honestly an interesting idea because it means you can trade Combat for Stealth, or vice versa.

Using the double assassination i snuck up behind these guards who’d patrol and then join up. I took them out, and the third guy saw me. I tossed a smoke bomb and led him on a goose chase through the woods, and then circled back to grab the scroll and then booked it back to turn it in to finish the mission.

After that, i called it quits for tonight because i just wasn’t feeling up for anymore after 3 missions. I think the game has a pacing issue with Act 2. A few of these targets i feel really didn’t need to be here or were trimmed to meet deadlines, which, i mean, these things happen in games. It does hurt the experience a bit though.
