      She prefers she but understands that not everyone would know that/ knows her as he/Eddie and isn’t too hung up on it

      (My interpretation of the reason added but she really doesn’t seem too bothered if people do call her Eddie)

        Probably made even more difficult by the quotes about how “they’re not women’s clothes, they’re my clothes”. I don’t exactly keep up with celebrity news, so up until this post Eddie Izzard being resolutely a man who wore makeup and clothes designed for women was my default assumption.

          Yep exactly I think she just understands that people might not be aware. She seems like the kind of reasonable person to be that way.

            Yeah I even assumed “Suzy” was a character or something at first, kinda like Borat, used to make a some statement; that just feels like an Eddie Izzard move. But based on the new information, it seems like “Suzy Izzard” is correct and sincere?

            It is a bit of a shame, since it does somewhat undermine the strength of dressing how one likes despite gender norms; bolsters the narrative that that’s just part of the pipeline, and not valid in and of itself. But, she’s not compelled to moderate her expression in order to uphold some banner of transvestite representation. She can obviously do whatever makes her happy and I’m happy for her
