The Justice Department on Friday fired at least three prosecutors involved in U.S. Capitol riot criminal cases, the latest moves by the Trump administration targeting attorneys connected to the massive prosecution of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Those dismissed include two attorneys who worked as supervisors overseeing the Jan. 6 prosecutions in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington as well as a line attorney who prosecuted cases stemming from the Capitol attack, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss personnel matters.
A letter that was received by one of the prosecutors was signed by Attorney General Pam Bondi. The letter did not provide a reason for their removal, effective immediately, citing only “Article II of the United States Constitution and the laws of the United States,” according to a copy seen by The Associated Press.
I have no idea how Americans can just stand by and watch while these things are happening?
A lot of us aren’t, millions and millions in fact, but the media refuses to cover any of it because it helps keep us isolated, uninspired, unmotivated.
The US government is the enemy of the people and should be treated as such.
I mean 13 million of us participated in the No Kings protest, they keep growing. Getting closer to the magic number.
And I’ll keep going to them, I ain’t no pyoosy
Didn’t vote though…
they keep growing.
I haven’t seen that. No kings was a good effort, but it seems to have fizzled out.
We have to keep working so we don’t get kicked out of our housing, end up on the streets and get rounded up and arrested.
We should probably all organize a rent strike though, and then the general strike. So we can focus on this fully. But the movement isn’t shrinking.
I hope you find a way. 🤞
A lot of Americans voted for this.
And a lot more Americans, after seeing both campaigns, chose to stay home and let the chips fall.
There have been protests pretty much every day since he started office.
Most people aren’t personally feeling the hurt yet.
