Gates said Musk had canceled grants to a hospital in Gaza Province, Mozambique, that prevents women transmitting HIV to their babies, in the mistaken belief that the US was supplying condoms to Hamas in Gaza in the Middle East. “I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money,” he said.

I don’t like Gates as a person. He was out in front arguing that the Covid vax needed protection as a commercial product instead of open-sourcing it. But he’s a thousand times better than the fuckwad Musk. I have no notes for him about his comments in this article.

Probably also killed a lot of elderly or immunocompromised adults since he lobbied against a covid vaccine becoming open source.

The only news I want to hear about billionaires is how they died painfully yesterday. Which is exactly how they feel about non-billionaires. They do kill huge amounts of non-billionaires for stupid reasons, and without regret.

I’m sick of their bullshit penetrating every news outlet. Just tell me how they died painfully yesterday.

We should start a new tradition:

They can be billionaires, but 5 of them per year will be selected in a lottery for execution, and all their assets will be distributed to the Common World Good.

I’m not particularly fond of Gates, but despite he was the worlds richest man for many years, he has managed to maintain some humanity.

They won’t. Elon cut a program to detect famine called the Famine Early Warning System Network, which tracks food security in ~30 countries. And, he discontinued transfers of food to locations where there is famine and near famine. People are going to die and Elon Musk and DOGE are to blame.

And Gates doesn’t do jack shit to help the American people, in the country that made him obscenely rich. And he can afford it, along with his other “philanthropy.”

Says the guy who pumps his obscene wealth into a “Foundation” that he controls. The very definition of a tax shelter. And does absolutely jack shit to influence the hyper capitalistic hellscape that made him that rich.

He doesn’t give two fucks about his “work” in Africa, or anywhere else. This is the guy who fought against making the CVD-19 vaccine IP free for the world. All of that is less than a picofraction of a drop to his wealth, or empathy. It’s a PR stunt. He didn’t want to die hated as the greediest man who ever lived. He was smart enough to pay attention to how much he was despised during the antitrust trial that Bush Jr. killed.

Don’t fall for it, don’t believe it. Bill Gates cares about Bill Gates.

This is absolutely a meaningless tangent but why do his hands look so small in this photo. I thought he was holding them tiny novelty hands at first.

Is this a focal length illusion? Am I just used to photos with a short focal distance and this is a zoomed shot or something?

Fair thing to be upset about, but Bill hasn’t been in charge since the turn of the millennium, and hasn’t had any official Microsoft role in half a decade

He’s a huge shareholder, he has say. Stop licking billionaire ass.

Half a decade? So, he had a major role only 5 years ago? WTF, that’s your argument to entrench your tongue up his colon?

Honestly don’t really have much in the way of positive feelings for the guy, so maybe read the thread again if you’ve got that impression

Says the guy holding billions of dollars that could just straight up feed millions of people

How do you praise someone who is capable of buying millions of dollars worth of food and resources for people but instead doesn’t, invests in property and business and personal expenses and spends the extra that he feels like spending on a few philanthropy programs as a side hobby

On top of that … his wealth is based on exploiting business and corporate models that actually take advantage of the poor and middle class

I’m not going to defend Bill Gates and say he’s a great guy. But I will say that he regularly gives away massive amounts of money and funding to those in need, unlike Elon… So per chance maybe we shouldn’t be as dismissive of someone in that position that is not entirely out of touch with reality. Elon could feed and clothe and medicate more than Bill but does not.
