    If the priests do hear a confession from a dangerous individual then I hope they do pass a tip onto the police and even be willing to testify at the risk of excommunication

    hope? the best you can tell the pedo’s victims is that you hope? sorry kid, we hoped the pedo would stop but… oh well.

    IF YOU HAVE IT WITHIN YOUR POWER TO STOP ABUSE AND DO NOT YOU ARE ENABLING IT.

      Yes I hope, just like you hope sociopaths and criminals still go to confession when its mandated law for the priest to rat you out even for faintest hints of a past crime.

      IT IS NOT WITHIN OUR POWER TO FORCE PRIESTS TO STOP ABUSE IN THIS CONTEXT. PRIESTS ARE AS LIKELY TO COMPLY NOW AS WITH THE LAW IN PLACE. THIS IS JUST AN EXCUSE TO PROSECUTE CATHOLIC PRIESTS TO FUND POLICE AND PRIVATE PRISONS.
