Former President Barack Obama stressed that “this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy.”

With all due respect sir, if our democracy were functioning for all of the people instead of just for the rich, people wouldn’t feel the need to vote with the ammo box.

Killing people who want to destroy your democracy has a place in every democracy.

      Damn. Profundo.

This and other shootings are the reactions of a populace under extreme pressure. Constantly exploited by others whether through their wallets, their emotions, their jobs. Being lied to, screamed at, and stepped on is the norm, never doing well enough for any kind of stability in their lives. Their amygdala constantly flooded with “DANGER BUY MORE FEAR MORE BE MORE DANGER WORK HARDER DANGER MAKE MORE MONEY DANGER RENT’S DUE.”

Stop manufacturing people with nothing left to lose like it’s off one of your freaking assembly lines, and the motivation for drastic irreversible violent action would go down dramatically.

But so might profits, can’t risk it, right? :'(

Unfortunately, our democracy is dead. This is what happens when a democracy dies. It’s going to get much worse from here.

Political assassinations have happened throughout the history of our country whether or not we choose to admit it.

It’s interesting because a lot of the things Trump has been doing seem crazy and unprecedented, then someone will come out with an example of something similar happening in the past. Perhaps we haven’t seen assassinations like this in a while because our government has been behaving itself? Not trampling on the rights of its citizens.

I’d be ok with “We should try to change society so that this kind of violence doesn’t happen”. But, the US is and has always been about political violence. There’s nothing new here.

Don’t respect that genocide supporting drive striking war criminal. His presidency pacified so many of us, we really believed in his hope and change lies, don’t keep believing them.
