I doubt we’ll hear about what the negotiations really are at first, it’s likely all lawyers figuring out the scope and how large of a lawsuit it would be for the FCC to threaten to pull their license. Whether they think they can win based on the fact that the supreme court is corrupt or if they think the court will have to say it is a direct violation to keep up the guise the republic hasn’t completely fallen yet.
The threat was made, they made the quick decision of pulling the show for damage control, and it blew up in their face… Maybe. It gave them a basis of who would or wouldn’t stand up for the case, and how angry people would be.
I’d hardly call their negotiation offers “fixing” it. “Scrambling” is accurate enough though.
