If this is genuinely objectively not what the bible is teaching, then christianity as a whole is a sham, because that is the prevalent teaching in christian spaces. You and your peers should probably break off and form your own flavour, as the majority of christians will not back you in this matter, including the actual institutions who claim to teach the word of god. Even if that is true, if the wrong teaching is prevalently being taught in christianity, then it is still a fault of christianity.
