I was a bit peeved about looking for free labor until i saw they’d get paid $20/hr and food.

Can also be good fun time to do something different and help out your team. Many would have tried to get people to do this for free.

Let them stay to watch the game and they would promise to do it every time this happens. Even if there’s a half-inch of snow.

the tickets are already sold out for months in advance, there’s no room for extra spectators in those numbers I wouldnt think

Probably. I’m guessing, in general, the tickets are worth more to the stadium than the free snow removal as well. It was just a fun thought.

yeah yeah fair enough. i know you understand how ticketed events work, i wasnt trying to be a dick. it would be a great idea if they could carve out an area for shovellers though, onna them feel good stories (which are normally how communities came together to save someone’s life from the predatory healthcare industry in the states)

IIRC, Ralph Wilson (it’s correct name and I will not accept any others) has a huge screen that can be used for parking lot viewing in warmer months.

Probably not worth the liability for blizzard conditions though.

20/hr is less than Aldis pays. It’s also less than the typical day labor rate.

      It’s a scam.

I didn’t say it was great, but it’s comparable to similar snow shoveling job postings in that area and requires no training or employee retention.

And I’m telling you it is not. Snow removal STARTS at about 35/hr here, in Buffalo.

Day labor rates are about the same too. Like the peeps you find at a temp agency or Home Depot.

I’m looking at job postings in Buffalo, there are definitely snow shoveling jobs that start at lower than $20/hour on Indeed/ZipRecruiter. Again, maybe it’s not great, but they are there. And again, this is a one-off job with no retention, so it’s not surprising it would be on the lower end of the scale.

And you will see those “openings” all the time.

However, nobody generally takes those, since SPS Staffing (a day labor temp place) starts at 30 for their day jobs.

I don’t need to look on zip recruiter to know… I literally live here.
